The original printed calendar, distributed at the beginning of September, listed Part 1 (Psalms 1 through 41) and Part 2 (Psalms 42 through 89). Part 3 was not listed. Pastor Williams addressed this discrepancy directly from the pulpit, stating that the three-part scope was “always the plan” and that the calendar had reflected an earlier draft.

Elder Gerald Hoffstead, reached by the Dispatch following the service, said he was “not previously aware of this plan.” He said this with the measured tone of a man who has been not previously aware of several plans over the past twelve months and has developed a sustainable response to the experience. The sermon calendar has been adjusted and distributed in an insert. Elder Hoffstead has seen the insert. Brandon Keyes published an analysis of the series in Edition Six of his newsletter, now at fifty-two subscribers, in a piece titled “Steadfast: An Assessment of Scope, Pacing, and Covenantal Cohesion.” The piece is eight paragraphs and includes a projected week-by-week timeline through January. Brandon shared the analysis with Pastor Williams directly. Pastor Williams thanked him and noted that two of Brandon’s projected dates contained a calendar error. Brandon has issued a correction in a follow-up email to all subscribers. He described the correction as “a demonstration of editorial integrity.”

Nathan Briggs, who has limited bandwidth for sermon series news this week, published “Coffee Station Watch: Week 2” as a standalone insert in Brandon’s newsletter, after Brandon offered him the space. The Week 2 update describes flooring progress, confirms the painter’s tape location is “secured and respected,” and includes a revised equipment recommendation for the pour-over station that Nathan describes as “an improvement over the Week 1 recommendation.” The Week 1 recommendation was also Nathan’s. The subcommittee voted to approve the revision. The subcommittee is Nathan.

Caleb Mercer attended his coffee meeting with Elder Hoffstead on Tuesday, September 16th. The meeting ran sixty-two minutes. Caleb had seventeen primary questions and eleven follow-up questions. Elder Hoffstead answered twenty-two of them. Six have been “tabled for further reflection.” Caleb considers this progress. He has started a new notebook.
